Eating healthy is hard and don’t believe anyone who tells you otherwise. They’re either mental or getting paid to tell you that. It’s easier to stick a pizza in the oven than it is to peel and chop and cook vegetables and it’s easier to pop to Pret for lunch than it is to make your lunch before you leave the house. However, the power of technology is making healthy eating that little bit easier. Here are ten great kitchen appliances that will make healthy eating much easier.

NutriBullet: This thing is everywhere, and with good reason. NutriBullet has nutrient extractors, which is a mechanism that breaks down the cell walls of fibrous plant foods, releasing important vitamins and minerals contained within. They come in three sizes, the bigger it is, the more fruit and vegetables you can fit into your smoothie. That said, the smallest NutriBullet still lets you fit five fruit and vegetables in one ‘NutriBlast’.

The Sushi Bazooka: Sushi is delicious, healthy and incredibly difficult to make at home. However, the Sushi Bazooka is going to make things that much easier for you. One of the most difficult things about making sushi is getting the amount of rice and filling right, but the Sushi Bazooka does this for you. All you have to do is load the rice into the roller, lay in the ingredients and then seal it. You push down on the ‘plunger’ and out pops some perfectly formed sushi. All you have to do is wrap it and slice it. It should be noted that it doesn’t actually launch sushi out of the roller, but it will make you look like a sushi pro.

Vegetable Peeler with Collecting Chamber: The worst thing about preparing vegetables is the mess. Finally, there is a solution, and that’s a vegetable peeler with a collecting chamber. Sort of like a pencil sharpener, you peel the vegetable of your choice and it collects the peelings in a chamber, leaving minimal mess.

Vegetable Spiralizer: All the rage this year, a spiralizer can turn your vegetables into spirals, giving you the opportunity to cut down on your carb intake by substituting it for pasta.
Popcorn Air Popper: According to reports, Popcorn is considered a superfood. But that doesn’t mean you can buy a large popcorn next time you go to the cinema, because popcorn coated in sugar and oil is not good for you. However, a Popcorn Air Popper can make popcorn in three minutes, needs no oil, and buying popcorn kernels is so much cheaper than buying pre-popped popcorn.

BluApple Gas Absorbers: Fruit goes off quickly because of the build-up of ethylene gas, but BluApple have designed a blue apple (who would have guessed) that helps absorb the gas, leaving the fruit fresher for longer. They last three months each and there is two in a pack.

Frozen Dessert Maker: Just because you’re trying to eat well, doesn’t mean you can’t have pudding. This dessert maker turns frozen fruit into frozen yogurt or ice cream. You can put in whatever fruit, and chocolate, you like and it churns out a delicious treat without the added fat, sugar or preservatives. It’s also great for those who are lactose intolerant as it is dairy free, or diabetics as there is no added sugar.

Oil Mister: Avoid unnecessary fat to your meal with an oil mister. It dispenses oil finely and evenly meaning you won’t overdo it on the oil when cooking.

Three Tier Steamer: Steaming is one of the healthiest ways to cook food, and this three tier steamer means you can cook an entire meal without the fuss. There are buttons for different food types and has a 99 minute timer for perfectly time recipes. And it’s dishwasher safe, which is more important really.

Food Dehydrator: Perfect for those of us who are guilty of snacking during the day. A food dehydrator will provide you with endless healthy snacks, from banana chips to fruit leather. This dehydrator has an adjustable thermostat and air circulation meaning there’s no need to rotate trays.
So there we have it, ten kitchen appliances and gadgets that will help you on the way to becoming a healthy eating guru. Some of them are quite expensive, but many will say they pay for themselves. Also, it is Christmas coming up, and nothing says I love you quite like a new kitchen appliance.
