There’s something comforting about watching a film inside whilst the weather outside continues to disappoint and depress. With the guarantee of wind and rain hitting Brighton’s shores throughout the winter months, with a potential inclusion of snow that is welcomed by some and batted away by others, a trip to the cinema is often the perfect solution on a cold winter evening.
If your film collection at home is worn out and lacking enthusiasm, you’re certain to find a film that will take your fancy throughout the following months at one of Brighton’s movie hotspots.
Although some of these winter releases don’t exactly coincide with the developing Christmas spirit at this time of year, they are packed with high-profile Hollywood stars that will heat things up as we deal with the cold weather that takes over.

On November 26th, Johnny Depp’s latest blockbuster ‘Black Mass’ hits the screens as he plays an infamous American gangster, in a true story that shows the rise and fall of Whitey Bulger, who is brilliantly played by the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor.
Set in Boston where Bulger grew up, the film tells the story of one of America’s most notorious criminals. The action packed film is not one for the fainthearted, boasting violent action scenes that set the tone during a dramatic portrayal of Bulger’s life.
The film also stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Kevin Bacon, adding power to the cast as they play key roles in a film that shows Johnny Depp’s outstanding ability to transform himself into another interesting role.

With Christmas day in sight, the perfect present for Sci-Fi fans will arrive on December 17th when ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ finally hits the big screen.
It ends a ten year wait following the release of ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith’ back in 2005 and fans of the film series are sure to be entertained once the next chapter is finally here next month.
Harrison Ford returns to play Hans Solo, 38 years after debuting as the character in the film series’ opening title. He finds himself besides an array of fresh cast members who play familiar characters such as Luke Skywalker in the recent installment of free-flowing fantasy.

Finally and with instant effect, TODAY sees the release of ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2’ and rounds of the collection of science fiction adventure films that have captured the imagination of people all over the world.
The movie adaptation of Suzanna Collins’ action trilogy will finally come to a close, as Jennifer Lawrence returns for her final battle in the Hunger Games arena, three years on from the opening film that got the ball rolling.
You’ll either be left feeling satisfied with how the story is bought to a close or empty with disappointment, either way the film is a must see for those who have read the books or followed since the opening blockbuster film.
