Based on the true and tumultuous personal life of Judy Garland, the actor Lisa Maxwell (The Bill, Loose Women, EastEnders) is set to portray the well-known actress from the film The Wizard of Oz in the upcoming play The End of the Rainbow that will feature at Brighton’s Theatre Royal.
Originally written by the twice Olivier Award nominated Peter Quilter, the play is set against a London backdrop in the 60s where Garland tries to set herself up with a witty and musical comeback while she wrestles with her past, her personal relationships, and her reliance on narcotics.
End of the Rainbow will feature Garland’s most memorable songs The Man That Got Away, Come Rain Or Come Shine, The Trolley Song and of course Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
The show will run at the Theatre Royal in Brighton from Tuesday 29 March to Saturday 2 April.
