Brighton Journal has been taken over by a new owner Nick Staunton, a publisher from London, from founder Elin Arnar who’s relocating back to her home country.

Elin founded Brighton Journal in 2015 after living in Brighton for a few months. She fell in love with the vibrant city, the diversity its people as well as the exciting social scene. As such she wanted to capture the cities spirit in a local online magazine and make an attempt to be on top of endless happenings and events taking place in the city in more depth.

A few years later Brighton Journal now welcomes  40,000 local readers each month and is well known to many Brightonians. The magazine prides itself on being an independent publication which celebrates local people and helps raising awareness around local issues, community, charity and events.

New owner Nick Staunton is an experienced publisher who runs a small publishing company in London. He wants to keep the spirit of the magazine the same for now and will be increasing content each week as well as trying to increase engagements online and on its social media sites. He said he was very excited to be taking over the reigns and can’t wait to get into the day to day running of Brighton Journal.

Elin said “I’m excited to see where Nick takes Brighton Journal from here. He has the abilities that I feel I’ve lacked in terms of taking the Journal further to the next level. I wish him great success. It has been a hugely exciting and enjoyable time for me running Brighton Journal but home has been calling for a while now”.
