Komedia Brighton – 11th July 2026

The Sound of Music bottomless brunch at Komedia takes everything people love about musical theatre and turns it into an afternoon of non-stop entertainment, food and drink. Their Mystery Musicals bottomless brunch events are each built around a different musical theme, keeping things fresh for returning guests, and the latest edition inspired by The Sound of Music proves exactly why these brunches have developed such a loyal following.

One of the biggest highlights is undoubtedly host Lee Peart. Charismatic, quick thinking and effortlessly funny, he has a remarkable talent for bringing an entire room together. Rather than simply introducing each section of the show, he becomes the driving force behind the afternoon, moving between tables, chatting to guests and encouraging everyone to get involved. His ability to read the room keeps the energy high throughout, whether he is delivering a perfectly timed joke or persuading reluctant volunteers to step into the spotlight.

Audience participation is at the heart of the experience, but there is never any pressure to take centre stage. Those keen to show off their musical theatre knowledge, vocal talents or dance moves have plenty of opportunities to shine, while everyone else can simply enjoy cheering them on. Competitions for Best Dressed, Best Singer and Best Dancer bring out plenty of friendly rivalry, while lip sync battles and dance challenges create some genuinely hilarious moments that have the whole room laughing.

The sing along itself is another standout feature. With lyrics displayed on screen, everyone can confidently join in regardless of whether they know every word. Familiar songs from The Sound of Music quickly fill the venue, creating a feel good atmosphere that spreads across the room. It is impossible not to be swept along by the enthusiasm as tables happily sing together, clap along and celebrate every performance.

The themed setting also deserves a mention. Komedia is transformed with colourful decorations that complement the chosen musical, while many guests embrace the occasion by arriving in costume. From subtle nods to favourite characters to full outfits, the effort people make adds another layer of fun and helps create an event that feels genuinely special.

Alongside the entertainment, the food and drinks are every bit as enjoyable. The brunch menu caters for a range of dietary requirements, offering generous portions that are ideal for an afternoon of singing and dancing. Bottomless drinks are served for 90 minutes, with attentive staff keeping glasses topped up throughout so there is no need to miss any of the action.

Just when it seems the afternoon has reached its finale, the Musicals Megamix afterparty begins. The playlist jumps from one theatre favourite to another, featuring songs from productions including Grease, Mamma Mia!, Wicked, Hamilton, Six and The Greatest Showman. The dance floor quickly fills as guests continue singing long after the themed show has ended, bringing the event to a memorable close.

Mystery Musicals Bottomless Brunch succeeds because it celebrates musical theatre in a way that is welcoming, funny and brilliantly entertaining, with something happening at every turn, plus quality food and plentiful drinks. Whether guests arrive as lifelong fans of the stage or simply in search of an afternoon out, they leave having shared an experience that is full of laughter, music and fun moments.
