Brighton Journal Stays: Where We Stay, Review and Recommend
Welcome to Brighton Journal Stays — a curated collection of hotels, boutique stays, coastal escapes and design-led spaces personally visited and reviewed by Brighton Journal.
This is not a booking directory.
We don’t publish lists. We publish reviews — written after staying, based on what we actually noticed.
It is a growing editorial collection of places that stay with you long after checkout — from Brighton seafront hotels to countryside retreats across Sussex and the UK.
We focus on:
- Atmosphere
- Hospitality
- Interior design
- Comfort
- Location
- And the feeling a space leaves behind
Because where you stay shapes how you experience a city.
What We Look For Brighton Journal Stays
There are thousands of hotels. Very few feel memorable.
At Brighton Journal, we are interested in more than star ratings or amenities lists. We pay attention to the details that quietly define a stay:
- The atmosphere when you first enter the lobby
- The lighting in the room at sunrise
- How a hotel handles scale and guest flow
- Breakfast that feels thoughtful rather than functional
- Warmth that cannot be staged
Sometimes it is something as small as a scent in the reception area or a handwritten welcome note that changes the entire experience.
Those are the details we remember. And those are the details we write about.
Brighton Hotels
Brighton remains at the centre of our stays coverage.
From large seafront hotels to smaller boutique spaces hidden behind Regency facades, the city offers one of the most visually distinctive hotel scenes in the UK.
