Kidical Mass Returns for Apple Harvest Day Bike Ride on Sunday 20th
September 2026.
Brighton and Hove’s beloved family and friends cycling event is back for
its first event of the autumn: a fun, free, family-friendly marshalled
ride from pick-up points in Brighton and Hove to Stanmer Park for
Brighton Permaculture Society’s Apple Harvest Day event.

The event is open to everyone — children, families, friends and adults
without children (all children must be accompanied by an adult) — and is
free to join with no registration required. Rides will proceed at a
gentle pace to ensure no one is left behind, and the ride will arrive in
good time to enjoy Apple Harvest Day’s events, songs, and stalls.
Pick-up points:
St Peter’s Portslade – 12:15
Hove Lagoon – 12:20
Peace Statue – 12:35
Palace Pier – 12:45

(for Apple Harvest Day)
Return from Stanmer Park – 16:00
Bricycles member James Walsh said: “Apple Harvest Day is one of my
favourite events of the year, particularly enjoying fresh apple juice
made from local apples, and watching the Morris Dancers and singers
performing in the orchard. It’s such a joy being able to cycle to and
from the event safely alongside fellow Brightonians, Hovarians, and
their families.”
Duncan Blinkhorn from Brighton Bike Hub said:
“Brighton Bike Hub is doubly delighted to support September’s Kidical
Mass ride. Firstly because we love to support more children and families
to cycle and the spectacle of hundreds riding together is so inspiring
and a testament to the enthusiasm in this city among its children to get
around by bike. Secondly because the start point is in Portslade, from
right outside our brand new Bike Hub workshop, which has just opened in
the former St Peter’s School. The ride is a wonderful way to celebrate
this exciting new project.”
Kidical Mass is an event that celebrates the joy of cycling and calls
for more safe, connected cycle lanes across the city. Kidical Mass in
Brighton & Hove is organised by a coalition of local groups: Bricycles,
Brighton Bike Hub, and Brighton Multicultural Women’s Cycle Club (The
BMWs).
