Award-winning comedian Jordan Brookes is bringing his latest stand-up show, The Part Of You That’s Always Screaming, to Brighton’s Komedia on Saturday 17 October 2026, as part of a UK tour following a critically acclaimed run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Brookes, the 2019 Edinburgh Comedy Award winner, has established himself as one of the most distinctive and unpredictable performers in British comedy, combining surreal observations, physical comedy and darkly inventive storytelling.

His new show has already attracted strong reviews, with The Telegraph describing it as “a back-to-basics masterclass in stand-up from a performer touched by genius” and calling Brookes “one of the funniest comedians in the country.”

The Times was similarly enthusiastic, declaring it “one of the best hours of comedy I’ve seen this year.”

The Brighton date comes as Brookes takes The Part Of You That’s Always Screaming around the UK following its Edinburgh run. The show is inspired by what promoters describe as an “absolutely shocking incident on a train”, leading Brookes into typically strange territory involving perception, anxiety, identity and the things that may — or may not — be lurking just outside the corner of your vision.

The premise asks audiences to consider whether they have ever felt both seen and unseen at the same time, before heading into the kind of unpredictable comic territory that has become Brookes’ trademark.

The comedian has previously been described by The Guardian as “the existential Michael McIntyre”, while The Scotsman awarded his work five stars for being “absurd… achingly funny.”

The List called him “majestic and challenging”, while Chortle praised his “artistically audacious” approach and noted that his throwaway lines can contain more depth than entire five-minute comedy routines.

Brookes’ reputation has grown considerably since winning the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2019. He has subsequently appeared on television shows including The Russell Howard Show, The Mash Report and Avoidance, as well as Alice and Steve.

His Edinburgh pedigree has also seen him repeatedly included in major critics’ selections of the festival’s essential comedy, with his work appearing in lists from The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Times and The i.

For Brighton audiences, the Komedia performance offers an opportunity to see one of the UK’s most unconventional stand-up performers in a relatively intimate setting.

Unlike conventional observational comedy, Brookes’ performances tend to move between carefully constructed routines, surreal digressions and moments of deliberate unpredictability. The result is comedy that can be as intellectually playful as it is deliberately ridiculous.

The Part Of You That’s Always Screaming continues that approach, promising audiences an evening that is difficult to categorise — and potentially even more difficult to predict.
