This summer the magic of fireside music is back as The Nest Collective announces the return of Campfire Club, its celebrated outdoor concert series.

After a brief hiatus in 2024, Campfire Club returns with a full programme of ten intimate concerts from 20th June to 30th August 2025, bringing the unique atmosphere of live music around a campfire to both London and Brighton.

Audiences will gather under open skies at Cody Dock in Newham (East London) and at the Earthship in Stanmer Park (Brighton) to enjoy performances by leading lights of the folk music scene – including Lunatraktors, Hayden Thorpe, Three Cane Whale, Joshua Burnside, Iona Lane, Patch & The Giant and Bird in the Belly.

Enchant your summer with extraordinary music under the stars

Campfire Club is a concert experience like no other. In an age of big festivals and crowded indoor venues, it offers the simple joy of gathering together in beautiful surroundings under open skies to listen to incredible music. As dusk falls, attendees partake in a tradition that people have cherished for thousands of years – a community coming together around the fire to enjoy music, food, drink and the company of others.

The choice of venue in both cities amplifies this close-to-nature experience. Cody Dock, once a derelict dock on the River Lea, has been transformed into a creative community oasis – a peaceful waterfront haven amid East London’s urban landscape. The Earthship in Brighton’s Stanmer Park offers a similarly magical setting: an off-grid eco-building built from reclaimed materials and nestled in wild greenery.

Attendees have described Campfire Club concerts as “wonderfully atmospheric and evocative… surrounded by wildlife”. Another guest simply called it “the best gig I’ve ever been to”, a testament to how special these nights can be.

Lineup

The Campfire Club 2025 lineup spotlights both renowned and rising talent in folk and roots music. Each concert features multiple artists. Highlights include:

  • Lunatraktors – an award-winning “broken folk” duo known for harmonic singing and percussive rhythms. They will open the season with a genre-blending performance that has earned them critical acclaim.

  • Hayden Thorpe – the former Wild Beasts frontman brings his soulful indie-folk songwriting to the fireside. This is a rare chance to experience Thorpe’s renowned voice up close in an intimate setting.

  • Three Cane Whale – a spellbinding multi-instrumental trio who weave rich, cinematic soundscapes. Their melodies and rhythms are sure to mesmerise listeners in the open-air setting.

  • Joshua Burnside – an acclaimed Northern Irish singer-songwriter celebrated for fusing traditional folk with electronic and world influences.

  • Iona Lane – a rising star of English folk who crafts poetic songs inspired by the natural world.

  • Bird in the Belly – Brighton’s own folk group will close the season with a hometown performance that promises to be a stirring finale to the series.

These artists, among others on the bill, reflect The Nest Collective’s commitment to showcasing diverse and extraordinary music. Each Campfire Club night promises an intimate musical journey for attendees; from contemporary twists on old folk songs to experimental sounds from around the world.

Community, Tradition and a New Chapter

Campfire Club 2025 is a significant moment for The Nest Collective, marking a new chapter for the beloved series as it returns to a full summer programme.

“I’ve loved the whole ethos of Campfire Club since before I even joined The Nest Collective. It’s more than just a gig – it’s about recapturing a community and wonder, looking back to a time when stories and songs were shared under an open sky. After a quiet year in 2024, we can’t wait to gather people around the fire again. There’s nothing else quite like it.”
