After sell-out arena shows and festivals in the US, a brand new album, and two prestigious international awards under their belt, Duran Duran are back in the UK and they are heading to Brighton. Not only that, but they have announced today that multi-platinum British artist Seal has been added to eight of their eleven upcoming shows this winter. The band, who are known as one of the bands in the MTV-driven “Second British Invasion” of the US, have had 14 singles placed in the Top 10 UK singles chart, 21 in the Billboard Hot 100 and have sold more than 100 million records. With songs such as “Girls on Film”, “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “Rio”, the band are back with their fourteenth studio album, Paper Gods, which was released 11 September 2015. Touring across the UK throughout November and December, they were thrilled to announce Seal was joining them for a majority of the tour.
Seal, who released his album, 7, on 6th November, will join the tour in Cardiff on 30th November and will continue through until the end of the run in Liverpool on 12th December. Selling 30 million albums worldwide, his new album saw him reunited with producer Trevor Horn and received much fan and critical acclaim. Duran Duran had been hoping Seal would be able to join them, and speaking earlier today, singer Simon Le Bon said “We have admired Seal and enjoyed the wonderful music he makes for many years. It was only a matter of time before we went on the road together. We are over the moon, it is a great bill.” London-based Ukranian newcomers, the Bloom Twins, will also accompany the music heavyweights, opening every show of the tour.
The show is coming to the Brighton Centre on 2nd December and there are still tickets left here.
