Manchester’s most gloriously unhinged live act are heading to Brighton — and if you haven’t heard of them yet, six million people on the internet already have.
Henge — the self-described “cosmic rock collective” whose live clip DNA recently surpassed six million views and triggered a wave of sold-out shows — have announced a 75-date world tour spanning 17 countries, and Brighton’s Chalk is on the list.
The show takes place on 19th March 2027, part of an 18-date UK and Ireland run that also takes in London’s Village Underground, Bristol’s Trinity and the Brudenell in Leeds. It will be the band’s first ever North American dates and their most extensive European run to date.
If you need a genre label, the band call their music “Cosmic Dross” — somewhere between rave and prog rock, with a sci-fi theatrical edge that has earned them a fiercely devoted following on the festival circuit. Glastonbury, Boomtown, Bluedot and Shambala are all on their CV, along with the Independent Festival Awards’ Best Live Act gong.
Their most recent album Alpha Test 4 was produced with Jim Spencer — the man behind records for New Order and Black Grape — and mastered at Abbey Road. PROG Magazine called it “blissed out, retro futuristic madness.” Stewart Lee described the band as “brutally invigorating and disorientingly absurd,” which feels about right.
