Brighton music student Clara Hurtado sadly didn’t make it through to the quarter-finals of ITV talent show The Voice this weekend. Her rendition of 2016 hit-single ‘Alarm’ by Anne-Marie just wasn’t enough to save her for another week.
She was pitted to the post by Tanya Lacey, but has told fans on Twitter that her stint on the programme was ‘just the start’.

20-year-old Clara, who used to study at BIMM in Hove, thanked everyone who voted for her and supported her while congratulating her three successful rivals.
Contestants Jason Jones and Michelle John were voted through to the quarter-final stage by the public, then Clara’s mentor Will.I.Am selected Tanya Lacey over Clara after minutes of hesitation.
Speaking to Juice FM, Clara said: “It’s quite brutal, they want it to seem like a battle between competitors, but to be honest I never saw it as a battle.
“It’s been hard to take in so I’ve been doing it a step at a time. It’s changed so much, with people on Twitter talking about me, I’ve been overwhelmed with it all.”
