| Aphasia is inviting Brightonians to participate in the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday, 1st March 2026, and run in support of Say Aphasia.
Why Run for Say Aphasia?
Aphasia is a communication disability that occurs when the brain’s communication centres are damaged, often due to a stroke, head injury, or brain tumour. It affects the ability to speak, understand language, read, and write, leading to feelings of isolation and frustration. Say Aphasia is the only UK charity run by people with aphasia, offering unique peer-led support to help individuals regain their independence and confidence.
By joining our team, you will:
- Raise Awareness: Help increase understanding of aphasia, a condition that affects over 350,000 people in the UK.
- Provide Support: Enable the continuation and expansion of drop-in groups and online sessions, offering vital social interaction and support for those with aphasia.
- Make a Difference: Contribute to reducing loneliness and improving the quality of life for individuals living with aphasia.
