Will Farmer, the face behind the crowdfunding page to reopen to Dyke Tavern has exceeded his target of £20,000. He hopes that the opening will be in July!

Will says that he is “extremely grateful for the support of local residents”. The money raised will go towards giving the pub a much-needed makeover, as it currently stands it is an empty shell.

Will has said that he will stick to the traditional look of the place, but also add a modern touch. He is very much focused on the community and plans to reopen the pub with a selection of local drinks, and feels that it is important to hire a local manager. He also states that for the first five years that the pub is open he will be donating 10% of the annual profits to the community.

If all plans go ahead, the pub will be reopening in July, and supporters will have the opportunity to receive their awards of meals and bar tabs.

To transform what is currently classed as a retail unit, back into a much loved local pub, the change needs to be approved by the council. Show your support here.
