Pandemic has changed our lives drastically and forced us to get creative. People started spending more time walking, cycling, and doing other kinds of activities. Also, some of them were brought back to life. And one of them is roller-skating. Written by Marta Szutowicz

Turned out that it doesn’t only help to follow the rules of social distance. It has much more positive sides and what you find below is not everything. Who said that you can’t have fun and take care of your health at the same time?

A daily dose of oxygen and fun

Brighton’s infrastructure allows skating along the beachside. That flat and safe area is a great place for families to spend time together, get some fresh air and simply be in nature. Not to mention the fun that goes with it.

Socialising at a safe distance

Although restrictions have been lifted, some people prefer to keep social distance. And roller skating seems to be a perfect solution. You can enjoy your friends’ company and feel comfortable at the same time. Yet, why not take a rest and drink a coffee in one of the cafes while admiring a wonderful view?

Say no to injuries

If you wear pads, roller-skating is much safer than any other sport. Most importantly, it doesn’t cause so much pressure on joints as walking or running, which may result in permanent injuries with time.

Burn calories and get in shape

If you don’t like going to the gym, roller skating may be an alternative. Do you want to burn 500kcal within an hour? No problem! But there’s more. It releases stress, improves cholesterol levels, and strengthens the heart and muscles. And you only have to get on the wheels.

Take care of your mind

All things mentioned above help maintain your mental health in a good condition and it’s incredibly important, especially these days. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, which decrease stress and improves your mood. Also, it allows you to shift your focus away from daily worries and relax.

The daily rush brings nothing but stress, lack of time and a feeling like you couldn’t stop for a minute and simply enjoy the moment. It’s overwhelming.

But if you want to spend quality time with your family, take care of your health and get some oxygen, all at the same time, now you know what you should do.

Let’s roll!
