Brighton and Rye have earned spots among the UK’s top seaside destinations, celebrated for their outstanding food and drink scenes. Brighton, famous for its eclectic vibe, offers a rich variety of dining experiences, from trendy cafes to gourmet restaurants, ensuring something for every palate.

The consumer champion surveyed more than 4,700 members earlier in the year about the best and worst seaside towns generally for 2024.They were asked to rate the locations in a number of categories including food and drink.

Which? explained: “They rated everything from the beaches to the tourist attractions, but in some places the biggest attraction is still the perfect fish and chips or, increasingly, something more sophisticated.”

The city’s vibrant food culture is a reflection of its diverse community, making it a haven for food enthusiasts. On the other hand, Rye, with its historic charm and intimate atmosphere, provides a more relaxed culinary experience.

Its quaint pubs and cozy eateries offer visitors a taste of local flavors, often featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Whether you’re looking for the lively buzz of Brighton’s beachfront eateries or the quiet allure of Rye’s traditional pubs, both seaside towns promise memorable gastronomic adventures, making them must-visit spots for any food lover exploring the UK’s coastline.
