Brighton Centre has announced a new addition to its 2027 programme: Steve Steinman in Concert, marking 50 years of Bat Out of Hell.
The show comes to the seafront venue on Saturday 13 November 2027, with tickets starting at £44.50. They go on sale at 10am on Friday 17 July 2026 through the Brighton Centre box office, with Steve Steinman Productions promoting.
Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell was released in 1977 and became one of the best-selling albums ever made, shifting an estimated 40 million-plus copies worldwide on the strength of Jim Steinman’s operatic, absurdly ambitious songwriting. Steinman-the-promoter is no relation, but he has built a long career staging the music, and this concert is billed as a celebration of the record’s half-century.
The Brighton angle
It is a long lead time — sixteen months — which tells you something about how the Brighton Centre is now programming. Large-scale nostalgia tours book early and sell steadily, and the venue has increasingly leaned into them alongside its comedy and arena-pop bookings. For a seafront venue competing with London for touring acts, locking in a Saturday night with a built-in audience is sound business.
It also lands in November, well outside the summer season, which is exactly when the city’s hospitality trade needs the footfall most. A Saturday-night show at the Brighton Centre puts several thousand people into restaurants and hotels on a weekend when the seafront would otherwise be quiet.
