AN EVENING WITH LORD IAN BOTHAM Devonshire Park Theatre
Wednesday 22 October 2025, 7.45pm

Lord Ian Botham, cricket commentator and former England captain, was one of the most impactful all-rounders of his generation with 14 centuries and 383 wickets in a career that spanned over 15 years.
Through the 1980s, he was part of a golden generation of all-rounders in world cricket. The 1981 Ashes, which England won 3-1, have since come to be known as Botham’s Ashes for his starring performances with bat and ball.
In 2007, Botham was knighted for his services to cricket and to charity.
Prolific with both bat and ball, Ian Botham was the fastest to the double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets. He broke the World Record for most Test wickets and finished his career with 5,200 runs and 383 wickets.
Your host for the evening will be Cricket legend Geoff Miller OBE. An English former cricketer himself, who played in 34 Test matches and 25 One Day Internationals for the England cricket, Geoff played for Derbyshire from 1973 to 1986 and returned in 1990 after playing for Essex between 1987 and 1989. Keeping his connection with the sport, Geoff became England selector from 2008 to 2013, served as President of Derbyshire County Cricket Club in March 2014 and is now a sought-after after-dinner speaker himself.
Join Lord Ian Botham, as he discusses his amazing career, and everything in between at the Devonshire Park Theatre, 22 October 7.45pm. Tickets from £38, with VIP and Super VIP packages also available. Book at eastbournetheatres.co.uk or call Box Office 01323 412000. ENDS.
