This week’s cartoon focuses on the news that Brighton Pier now has a new owner. The Eclectic Bar Group, who also own popular nightclub Lola Lo’s, bought the Pier for £18m. The Pier has been the centre of much scandal recently as Julian Caddy, of the Brighton Fringe Festival, launched a scathing attack on the Pier in a column for The Argus, causing outrage across the city. You can read our timeline of the debacle here. There is still no word yet on what the new Pier owners have planned for the future of the landmark, but we’re still excited nonetheless.
