Brighton homeowners could be set to earn hundreds of pounds by renting out their driveways and spare land to needy tourists.

Following research by an online parking firm, results showed that due to the popularity of the city with staycation visitors, those looking for a domestic trip due to covid regulations are set to flock to Brighton allowing residents to cash in.

Figures presented showed that £255 per month is an average income that renters could possibly expect to be earning, with this price the highest across the whole of the United Kingdom.

Sussex as a country was also seen as a popular destination as the neighbouring towns of Hastings and Worthing both making the top 10, as claustrophobic brits seek to escape down south in their search for an escape from the lockdown situation they had been suffering with.

Earnings here are much lower however, with the average price being a more modest £110-£116.

The potential has been caused by the often lacking number of car parking spaces that exist in resorts and by places such as Brighton Beach, with travellers willing to pay large amounts to secure an easy and convenient place to leave their vehicles.

This means that those within walking distance of major attractions can rent their spare spaces to those in need and make some money after a very financially challenging Covid lockdown for the entire nation.

Such possibilities will be unwelcome news to many local residents however, as the prospect of traffic and disruption is a concern for many in the city as the summer season approaches.
