Brighton and Hove Pride have confirmed the dates for next year’s weekend for the most anticipated Pride event in the UK.
The organisation announced the news on their Facebook and Twitter pages earlier today:
“After the amazing £250,000 raised for local community groups and good causes in 2018, we are thrilled to announce the dates for next year’s Pride Festival weekend are confirmed as Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th August.”
Britney Spears headlined the main Pride Festival event this year, causing tickets to sell out rapidly, but there were problems with fans being issued fake tickets for her show.
Brighton Pride CIC Managing Director, Paul Kemp, said; “We are immensely grateful for the support of everyone who purchased tickets for the official Pride events, as well as our sponsors all of whom have helped us raise this record amount for good causes across our City.”
The money raised from this year’s events reached the highest ever at £250,000, which will be distributed as grants to LGBT+/HIV organisations and community groups.
Mr Kemp added: “We really want our local communities and businesses across the City to benefit from the Pride weekend and we are delighted that this year’s event has helped to bring an economic boost to the city as well as raising much-needed funds for our communities.”
The new Sunday edition to the programme, LoveBN1 Fest, extremely successful in raising more funds this year, with Nile Rodgers and CHIC headlining the show.
