Loving Cats Worldwide (LCWW) is organising a CATstravaganza event at the Brighton Racecourse on March 29–30 to celebrate cats and raise awareness about cat welfare issues.
This event includes an international cat competition where pedigree and household cats compete for points to earn titles such as Champion and Ultimate Grand Champion.
This event will be from 10 am to 4 pm and is open to everyone; attendees can also meet with local rescues and charities and shop for cat products.

Kelly Makdissy, LCWW global community manager and judge, said: “Since the beginning of Loving Cats Worldwide, we have strived to create a welcoming and amazing experience for cat competitors and the general public at our CATstravaganzas.
“As global community manager and an LCWW judge, I speak directly with the exhibitors who love what we do at LCWW; we’re breaking the mould and putting cats into the spotlight, where they deserve to be!”
International judges will be at this event, and they will judge the cats based on their colour, bone structure, and fur and discuss their breed characteristics.

The judges will give the cats awards such as Best Cat, Best Kitten, and Best Household Pet, and out of these winners, the judges will decide one winner of the weekend.
Rebecca Owens, LCWW vice president of sales and marketing, said: “We are having a significant impact on people’s ideas of cats.
“They are the type of animals that, if you have a friend come over, they might go and hide, and then people think they are quite boring. But then, as soon as they leave, they will go crazy; they are so entertaining! They are also very misunderstood.”
Anyone can enter their cat into the competition by filling out a form on Loving Cats Worldwide’s website and paying a fee.
The cats in this upcoming competition will be from the UK and Europe.
Loving Cats Worldwide hosts cat competitions throughout the year in cities such as New York, Dallas, and Glasgow, and this is its third visit to Brighton.
Tickets will cost between £22 and £50.
