Brighton goes pug mad as new CuppaPug café opens its doors (and they’re available to adopt).
Yes that is right – a brand new pug café in Brighton CuppaPug is officially launching after completing its soft opening phase, during which the resident pugs have settled into their routines and the café has fine-tuned its daily experience.
CuppaPug, which brings together rescue pugs and a relaxed food and drink experience, says its opening follows a period of settling in for the dogs and refining the daily routine behind the scenes. The Brighton site is designed to give visitors the chance to spend time with pugs in a calm, supervised environment while enjoying themed drinks and cakes inspired by the café’s four legged residents.

CuppaPug will mark the launch with a special opening event on Friday 26 June, where guests will be able to experience the café in full for the first time, meet the pugs, including those currently available for adoption, and learn more about the rescue work behind the project. The team behind the café will also be on hand to share more about the concept and its development.
The founders, Aaron and Matthew, will be joined by Brighton managing partners David and Laura. David left a 25 year career as a solicitor to help run the Brighton site, while Laura has been volunteering with CuppaPug for more than two years. The team says rescue stories will form a central part of the opening, alongside appearances from some of the pugs who have already found new homes.
Alongside the launch, CuppaPug is running a prize draw offering a range of prizes. The top prize is a trip for two to CuppaPug Texas, including return flights from the UK, three nights’ hotel accommodation, and free entry for two people to CuppaPug Frisco, Texas. The second prize includes 10 pairs of tickets to the exclusive CuppaPug London 4th birthday party. Full details are available at https://www.cuppapug.com/prizedraw2026
A separate CuppaPug birthday celebration will take place in London on Saturday 27 June.
