This year, Traumfrau is coming back once again with the International Women’s Day Mixtape, a party celebrating the queer women of Brighton.

Taking place on the 16th March at The Spire, in Kemptown, the party will feature six women who will narrate the story behind a meaningful song, which will then be performed live.

Traumfrau organised this year’s edition alongside Queer Songbook, a collaborative mixtape of songs reflecting the queer experience. The guests (a mix of professional, amateur and first-time singers), will perform live accompanied by the talented Queer Songbook band.

A spokesperson for the event said: “This is not a simple music gig or a talent show for great voices, it’s a collective experience of both listening and sharing, with music being an intimate reminder of our shared humanity.”

Among the guests there will be Zoe Lyons, one of Brighton’s most famous comedians, who has appeared in popular TV shows such as Mock the Week and Celebrity Masterchef.

Other guests include Tabs, a London-based musician, Aneesa Chaudhry, Emma Frankland, Fruit, Roni Guetta and Brighton DJ duo Kate Wildblood and Queen Josephine.

Having been celebrating International Women’s Day for the past six years, Traumfrau is set to be just as popular this year, with a grand cabaret theme, followed by the ‘usual unusual’ extravaganza with Djs and more live acts.
