The award winning Tango Fire, which has sold out Sadler’s Wells Peacock Theatre in London’s infamous West End seven times, is heading back to the UK for another tour. There will be shows, presented by producer Andrew Kay, in venues across the UK from 12 February – 2 March. The final show will be at Theatre Royal Brighton.
If you didn’t know, world champions Ezequiel Lopez and Camila Alegre actually made a special visit to Brighton this week before they began their tour to give everyone a taste of what’s to come. Don’t worry, if you missed out on that, the full show will be here in less than a month!
The show explores the fiery history behind the beautiful Argentine Tango. There are six couples all showing off their speedy footwork and tight turns, presented with their own flare and individual styles. They are accompanied by Tango Fuego Quartet who play live music from some of the most famous Tango composers, including the likes of Piazzolla, Gardel, and Pugliese.
The couples in the show are:
- German Cornejo and Gisela Galeassi,
- Sebastian Alvarez and Victoria Saudelli,
- Marcos Roberts and Louise Junqueira Malucelli,
- Ezequiel Lopez and Camila Alegre,
- Julio Seffino and Carla Dominguez,
- Esteban Simon and Marilu Leopardi.
As well as being part of the performance, German Cornejo choreographed the whole show and is also responsible for wardrobe. He’s not new to choreography, as his portfolio includes: Immortal Tango (2016), Tango Inferno – The Fire Within (under the Musical Direction of Lisandro Adrover, 2010/2011), Mission Tango Show (2007) and Tango Dance Premium (2007).
