s the first week of June! To help celebrate we have picked a selection of some of the best gigs. This week includes a range of different genres, from uplifting pop, funk, soul and traditional Irish Folk.
On top of this, it’s also a great week for electronic music, Friday sees Todd Terjie at Concorde, and there is also a very exciting festival happening at the weekend, which is hosting mega names Dizzee Rascal, Ocean Wisdom and Shy FX.

AU/RA @ Komedia, Monday 3rd June
AU/RA, is a German/Antiguan singer-songwriter. She released her first single ‘Concrete Jungle’ in 2016, which quickly gained 15 million streams worldwide. Whilst predominately pop, her off-beat sound has been described as a “patchwork of subterraneous synths, haunted vocals, propulsive beats and lyrics that tackle the underbelly of life.”

Matt Taylor @ Patterns, Tuesday 4th June
Matt Taylor is an Irish pop artist who moved to Brighton a few years ago when he was given the opportunity to collaborate on and co-write tracks that have now been picked up by Ariana Grande and Charli XCX. “His latest single ‘Body’ is an energetic, pop, summer anthem which touches on the vulnerability of modern relationships, while leaving the listener eager for more”. The track reached number 10 in the Irish Singles Charts over its first weekend and set the tone for his upcoming EP.

Soul Jam @ Patterns, Wednesday 5th June
The original touring Funk, Soul & Disco party, Soul Jam is returning to Brighton another night of dancing to the best funky sounds for a very last party of the academic year! You can expect uplifting, dance floor friendly music with fun and friendly people who are up for dancing all night long under the disco ball!

The Cracklin’ Griffins @ The Bugle, Thursday 6th June
The Cracklin’ Griffins play traditional Irish songs and music, as well as some of the greats from the Pogues and Waterboys back-catalogues. They have been described as “unplugged folky loveliness” and “Brighton’s best”. The Bugle is a great place to experience them up close and personal, with gorgeous acoustics.

Todd Terjie @ Concorde 2, Friday 7th June
Todd Terjie, is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter, and record producer who has been called “King of the summer jams” by Mixmag, “one-third of the Holy Trinity of Norwegian disco” by Spin magazine, and “one of [the Scandinavian dance scene’s] prominent figures” by AllMusic. He is making a rare appearance in Brighton at Concorde 2, grab your tickets before they sell out!

Utopia @ The Green Door Store, Saturday 8th June
Utopia Brighton is hosting a Utopia All-Dayer at the Green Door Store this Saturday. They have announced a line-up of some of the most enthralling up and coming live bands in the country; including Heavy Lungs, Kagoule, Hotel Lux, Nancy, Buddha Blood and Mystic Peach.

Land Beyond Festival @ East Brighton Park, Sunday 9th June
Land Beyond is an exciting electronic music festival that is coming to Brighton this weekend. Across the two days there is a selection of top DJS and performers, with Saturday offering a selection of house, disco, funk soul and Jazz and before the Supercharged Sunday takeover of bass, grime, garage, DnB and more. The Sunday line up includes Dizzee Rascal, Ocean Wisdom, Shy FX and many more.
