Summer time in Brighton and some students are still here! This week we met Greek undergraduate student Anastasia, who shares her experience of living in Brighton with us.
Hey Anastasia! How long have you been in Brighton for and what do you think of the city?
It’s been two years and I love it, it’s a town with so much character!
What brought you here?
I study English Literature at the University of Sussex!
Where are you originally from?
I’m from Greece, there are quite a few of us here!
How has your experience as a EU student been?
The University of Sussex has been helpful and supportive, there is a strong network among EU and international students and i’ve never faced any problems. The local community has made me feel welcome and I’ve met so many people here who have been to more Greek islands than me haha!
What would you say is the best thing about living in Brighton?
I wish I could choose more than one! I love meeting people from all around the world and Brighton is a beautifully balanced melting pot. So I would go with the diversity and variety in terms of people and experiences as the best thing about the living in Brighton.
Do you think you will stay in Brighton after your studies?
I’m still unsure as I love experiencing new places, but at the same time I do not feel ready to leave Brighton yet. It has become a part of me so i’m considering maybe completing a postgraduate degree here, we’ll see!
