Brighton’s Jason Burill was crowned Big Brother’s 2016 winner last night. The 45 year-old body double has walked away from the Big Brother house £90,000 richer.

The nation has slaughtered Jason on Twitter claiming that this was a worse outcome than the Brexit vote. One outraged fan tweeted, ‘Jason winning is like Brexit all over again #bbuk’. Take me out’s, Paddy McGuinness also spoke about the surprising outcome. He tweeted a picture of a brick, captioning it: “Congrations on winning Big Brother. BBUK.”

Ex girlfriend Charlie Doherty was also a house mate on the Channel 5 programme and caused controversy, naming Jason a ‘game player’ throughout the series. Jason said at the live final that he still wants to be amicable with Charlie and that the pair have had many chapters in their lives together and “the last few weeks were just another chapter”.
