On Tuesday 2nd of May, one of the UK’s best-loved singer Olly Murs will be making a stop in Brighton as part of his ‘Marry Me’ UK Tour.
The Brighton Centre will welcome the English singer, songwriter and television presenter for an evening of his greatest hits and tunes from ‘Marry Me’, his first studio album in more than four years.
The Essex-born singer first saw the spotlight in 2009 when he auditioned for the sixth series of The X Factor and made it to second place on the show.
He released his first debut album in November 2010, titled ‘Olly Murs’. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at number two, and it had the biggest week-one number of sales out of all the debut albums of 2010, with more than 108,000 albums sold.
Since then, Murs has released six more studio albums and is notoriously known for his songs ‘Dance with Me Tonight’ and ‘Troublemaker’.
After recently signing with EMI Records, the internationally-known star is back and brings new music with the release of his seventh studio album ‘Marry Me’. The album opens with the catchy first song ‘Die Of A Broken Heart’.
Murs described, “It has that steel drum at the intro, which just gets in your head straight away. It has a very Gotye, ‘Somebody I Used to Know’ feel to it, with a touch of The Police- and just a coolness to it. That really excited me.”
Murs will be joined on his tour by the very special guests Scouting For Girls, an English pop rock band most known for their hit song ‘She’s So Lovely’.
Doors open at the Brighton Centre at 6:30pm on Tuesday 2nd May.
