One Arrested After Fight Involving 20 People in Steyning

Police were called to Shooting Field, Steyning, just after 11pm on Saturday night (6 January) after reports of a fight outside a local club involving some 20 people.

Charlie Bartholomew, 23, a fence erector, of Priory Field, Upper Beeding, was later arrested and charged with threatening behaviour, obstructing police, and assaulting two women police officers in the execution of their duty. He has been bailed to appear before Worthing magistrates on Tuesday 6 February at 10am.

At the same location on a separate occasion a 51-year-old woman sustained a minor head injury for which she was checked at hospital.
Enquiries are continuing as the police seek any witnesses to the event. Anyone who saw anything or who may have other information about the incident is asked to report details online or phone 101, quoting serial 1227 of 06/01.
