Police Appeal for Witnesses After Woman Assaulted on St. James’ Street

Sussex Police have just released CCTV footage of two suspects and are appealing for help in their investigation into an assault that took place on St. James’ Street, Brighton on the 11th May.

During the incident, which took place outside the Black Dove Pub at 8.55am, a 27 year old woman as approached by two men. One of the two suspects proceeded to verbally abuse her, before attempting to pull her away by the arm. The second suspect also verbally abused the young woman, who has not been named.

Another man, who witnessed the assault, had to intervene and escort the victim to safety and help her find a taxi.

The first suspect pictured (left) in the CCTV footage has been described as being a white male around 5 ft 9, with mousy coloured gelled back hair, wearing a light coloured top, a yellow florescent jacket, black trousers and white trainers. The second suspect is described as a white male, thought to be in his thirties, with a thin physique and ginger-blonde hair, wearing all back clothing.

Sussex Police would like to speak with the two men about the incident and are appealing for anyone who recognises the two suspects in the CCTV images, or anyone who can offer any extra information on the assault, to come forward and assist their investigation.
