Sussex Police have launched an investigation into five assaults in Brighton city centre. The attacks, carried out on June 25th, are believed to be connected.
The images of 3 suspects have been released by police. The assaults occurred in the period between 1am and 4.30am. Police revealed the timeline of the calls they received:
- 1.07am at Western Road, a man is approached and punched
- 3.20am at Church Road, a man is found with head wounds. He has his iPhone and card stolen, and remains in hospital
- 3.51 am at Kings Road, two men are punched and need treatment for head wounds
- 4.07am, yet again two men are assaulted, but neither needed treatment
- 4.15am, at Kings Road Arches a man has his nose broken after being punched in the face
In all, 7 people were assaulted by the men in the prolific spree of Brighton attacks.
As Detective Sergeant David Rose stated, they believe the attacks were perpetrated by the same group of men: “We believe these assaults have all been carried out by the same group of men, who have randomly attacked different and unconnected people across the city. Their behaviour is totally unacceptable and we are very keen to trace them.”
Specific information was also released on the appearance of the men: “The three men are described as white, two in shorts and T-shirts and one in a shirt and tie. One was carrying a JD sports bag.”
Sussex Police have requested that those with possible information contact police online quoting serial 150 of 26/06.
