A young man is wanted for questioning by Sussex Police after a woman reported being spat in the face in the Brighton city centre.

The nineteen-year-old woman was waiting at one of the bus stops by Old Steine with a friend at around 3:45am, Tuesday 16th October, when the man approached them asking for a hug.

She declined the man’s request and got onto the bus, but then the man followed her on board and spat in her face, before leaving the bus.

PC Mark Butcher said; “He is also suspected of having been part of a group of three youths or young men who had just been harassing two unknown women at the same spot, trying to sell them drugs and threatening to expose themselves.”
