A horrific attack was carried out last week in Brighton. A 19-year-old, Enkyed Islam, was hit by a truck, luckily surviving. 18-year-old Connor Mackay was believed to have stolen the truck which was later found heavily damaged in Sussex’s Stanmer Woods.
Mackay is now believed to be at large, committing a crime spree with two other men. Grant Searle, 26 and Taylor Clarke, 20 are believed to be his accomplices.
Searle is also believed to have crashed into three cars in a stolen Volvo. Fortunately, the victims of his crimes were unscathed.
The reward for all 3 suspects is now set at a total of £2000, as Detective Inspector Rob Morland states: “Clarke and Mackay are also wanted in the Brighton area and were already the subject of £500 rewards. We’ve now doubled these and added a £1,000 reward for Searle.”
Morland is optimistic that someone can help the police apprehend them: “All three men are clearly determined to evade capture, but someone will know where they are. With substantial rewards now on offer, we are keen to arrest them as soon as possible.”
All 3 men are from St Leonards-on-Sea but have ties to Brighton. Clarke has also breached his licence for early release, and is now unlawfully at large, with anyone sheltering him subsequently breaking the law. Searle is also wanted on recall to prison following a burglary conviction. Mackay is wanted for stealing a £17,00 Ford Ranger, with police no longer wanting him in connection to the attempted murder.
