★★★★★ “Lots of laughs, a great evening out!” — Audience Club

What Is Space Planet Mission?

Every show is entirely different. Every show is entirely made up.

Space Planet Mission is a fully improvised sci-fi epic — each performance built from scratch using only the audience’s suggestions. Inspired by the great sci-fi universes from Star Trek and Star Wars to Battlestar Galactica and Dune, the show creates new worlds, new characters and new stories at the speed of light — with a live improvised soundtrack running throughout.

No scripts. No safety net. No two shows the same.

It could be set in Earth’s dystopian near-future, or a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. You won’t need to know your Klingons from your Cylons. This is a supernova of cosmic comedy.

The Team Behind Space Planet Mission Brighton Fringe 2026

Space Planet Mission is performed by an improv supergroup from The Free Association — the UK’s leading improv theatre. These are some of the top improvisers working in the country today, and their track record speaks for itself.

The team has appeared on E4, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Comedy Feeds, reached the final of the Leicester Square Sketch-Off, been nominated for the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards, been runners-up in the British Comedy Guide Pro Talent Awards, and reached the semi-final of the West End New Act of the Year.

Previous shows include the FA’s popular productions 3, Jacuzii and St Doctor’s Hospital, as well as the London 50-Hour Improvathon — one of the most demanding formats in live comedy.

Why Space Planet Mission Brighton Fringe 2026 Stands Out

Brighton Fringe does free brilliantly — and Space Planet Mission is exactly the kind of show that makes a spontaneous afternoon genuinely memorable.

There is something particular about improvised comedy at this level. The audience’s suggestions become the raw material for an entire narrative world — characters, relationships, plot twists — all constructed in real time by performers who have spent years mastering the form.

Sci-fi is the perfect genre for it. The rules are flexible. The worlds are limitless. And when something goes wrong — as it occasionally will — that is part of the show too.

No booking required. Grab a coffee at Presuming Ed’s and let the universe unfold.
