The Magic of Thailand festival is coming back to Brighton this weekend for a two-day celebration of Thai culture. This marks one of nine destinations for the cultural festival across the UK. Previously known as Brighton Thai Festival, this family-friendly event promises to both challenge the taste buds and treat your senses to world class food and performances.

Taking place in Preston Park, the festival weekend will start with a traditional food offering to Buddhist monks. Demonstrations will then include live cooking, Thai boxing (Muay Thai), Lady Boy shows, a Thai traditional costume parade and traditional Thai music and dancing.

There will also be a series of family-friendly events running throughout the weekend such as a chance to try authentic Thai cooking, Thai carving, tasting the best of Thai beers or unwinding with a Thai massage. A number of kids rides will also be dotted around the festival.

This year will see the return of the highly popular “I’m British, Get Me Out of Here” eating competition. This spin on the infamous ITV show “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here” will introduce the competing public to new flavours… in large quantity. The competition will prove to be a highly entertaining show, or one to get involved in yourself. Do you have what it takes?

Highlights will include a performance from the incredible White Keys, a live Thai band who will be headlining the main stage. The Sunday will also feature a Kids Muay Thai tournament. It promises a full day of Thai boxing, with the first fight starting at 10.30am. Get your hands on a chance for your kids to enter soon, as registration to compete in the event closes tomorrow.

Online ticket sales and a chance to win a trip to Thailand end this Thursday. Alternatively, tickets can be bought on entry for £5. Under 15s go free.
