This November, a revolution has arrived. The future of co-working in Brighton is set to change the way freelancers, start-up companies, and small businesses both operate and thrive. The answer? The Projects.

Found at 8-9 Ship Street, The Projects is a communal hub for inspiring minds to collaborate within the creative heart of Brighton’s Lanes. Originally owned by the prestigious William Attree, the first solicitor in Brighton, the 1977 Grade II Listed building has both a fascinating history, and exciting future ahead. Attree was employed by the Prince of Wales as part of a financial project to build an extension to the Royal Pavilion, their collaboration alluding to the enterprising spirit The Projects embodies.

The Projects feels very unlike a typical office, but rather like a home. Full of artwork, custom-made wallpaper, plush sofas and comforting interior, the attention to detail instilled by the design team does not go unnoticed.

Three floors of beautifully designed co-working space, seven fully serviced offices, high-spec meeting rooms and event spaces boast professionalism within the comforting environment. Members are also treated to a bar, games room and roof terrace, with the prospect of a fully equipped gym to be opened in the near future.

“Beautiful things happen when we work together” – The Projects

Mindfulness and wellbeing can often take a back seat in professional environments. The Projects have ensured their members are able to escape from stressful endeavours, by offering regular events that encourage people to take time out.

Exclusive event programmes are scheduled for members and non-members, to encourage collaboration, networking and the opportunity for creatives to connect outside of work. The Projects prides itself on creating the best possible work and leisure environment for its members and, to help them do so, will be constantly adapting their events programme in line with what their members want.

Stunning co-working office space

Behind the space, the idea, and the creation is The Projects team, formed from business individuals and creatives who share a concern for making their members’ working lives more enjoyable. The building follows a general rule for co-workers, ‘the higher up you go, the quieter it gets’  allowing different working styles to thrive within the stunning environment.

Operations manager, Beth Lewis, takes pride in the co-working space that drives productivity, encourages relaxation, and welcomes inspiring minds. “We’re already a very warm, nurturing community'” said Beth, “We have got the personal touches of a members’ club and that means truly know our members and wanting to help them in any way that we can”.

Local space supporting local talent

The Projects has partnered with a number of local businesses, including Hotel Du Vin and The Walrus, to offer exclusive members discounts. They’ve also started to work with the University of Brighton to offer one talented graduate and rising star entrepreneur a year’s free membership to develop their business.

It is clear the team are excited to partner with local, and independent businesses. Visible in their efforts to create such a professional space, is evidence The Projects believe “beautiful things happen when we work together”, encouraging business growth and members’ happiness.
