The Bunkum Ensemble, a Brighton-based theatre collective known for its inventive and anarchic style, is thrilled to present The Unstoppable Rise of Ben Manager—a razor-sharp, absurdist dark satire exploring the psychological toll of corporate life.

Winner of the prestigious Charlie Hartill Theatre Fund 2025, this new production will premiere at the Pleasance Courtyard (Above) as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, running from Thursday 31st July to Monday 25th August 2025 (excluding 11th, 12th, 13th), with performances daily at 17:20.

Blending physical comedy, live music, and “pointless galore,” this high-energy show takes audiences on a surreal journey through the modern workplace. Told through a series of live-scored musical PowerPoint presentations, The Unstoppable Rise of Ben Manager pokes fun at the daily absurdities of corporate existence while probing deeper questions about purpose, identity, and the relentless pursuit of productivity.

“We wanted to create something for everyone who’s ever stared blankly into the middle distance during a team meeting and wondered, ‘What am I doing here?’” says the Bunkum Ensemble. “This show is about laughing at the nonsense, but also confronting the reality that so many of us find our meaning in work.”

With its unique format and biting humour, the show promises to resonate with anyone who’s questioned their place in the system—and needed a good laugh along the way.
