Following an exciting autumn season jam-packed with sensational musicals and gripping plays, Theatre Royal Brighton’s winter What’s On guide arrives – bringing with it another season of fabulous and award-winning shows.
This season welcomes a host of West End, Broadway and Hollywood royalty to the stage in the form of Kerry Ellis (101 Dalmatians The Musical), Brie Larson and Stockard Channing (Elektra), Max Bowden (Birdsong), Peter AshFiona Wade and George Rainsford (Picture You Dead), Katy Stephens (The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Calamity Jane), Laura Whitmore (The Girl on the Train), and multi-award winning master of mind control, Derren Brown (Derren Brown: Only Human). Plus, many more!

DOT DOT SPOT (Wed 11 – Fri 20 Dec 2024)

Follow a dotty trail to our beautiful spotty playroom where much fun awaits you. Play amongst the spots and dots, listen to a story, and make your own spotty playmate to take home. Dot Dot Spot is a joyful seasonal experience for families with little ones, designed and created by artist and Early Years expert Abigail Horn in partnership with Brighton Creative Learning.

101 DALMATIANS THE MUSICAL (Tue 17 Dec 2024  -Sun 5 Jan 2025)
When fashionista Cruella de Vil plots to swipe all the Dalmatian puppies in town to create her fabulous new fur coat, there’s trouble ahead for Pongo and Perdi and their litter of adorable, tail-wagging young pups. Starring as Cruella is multi-award winning West End and Broadway Musical Theatre star Kerry Ellis, recognised as the leading lady of West End and Broadway musicals.

ELEKTRA (Mon 13 – Sat 18 Jan 2025)
Elektra, haunted by her father’s assassination, is consumed by grief; a need for survival; and a thirst for vengeance. When her long lost brother Orestes at last returns, she urges him to a savage and terrifying conclusion but at what cost?

Joining Academy Award winning actor Brie Larson (RoomLessons in ChemistryCaptain Marvel) is the internationally renowned Stockard Channing (The West WingThe Good Wife). Directed by Daniel Fish (Oklahoma!), with choreography by Annie-B Parson (American Utopia) in a stunning translation by award winning poet Anne CarsonElektra is the first major revival in over a decade of Sophokles’ timeless play and comes to Theatre Royal Brighton for one unmissable week, prior to a limited West End season.

THE LAST LAUGH  (Tue 11 – Sat 15 Feb 2025)

Direct from a sell-out run at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Last Laugh is a brand-new laugh-a-minute play which re-imagines the lives of three of Britain’s all-time greatest comedy heroes – Tommy Cooper, Eric Morecambe and Bob Monkhouse.
The Last Laugh is written and directed by the award-winning Paul Hendy, and stars Bob Golding as Morecambe, Simon Cartwright as Monkhouse and Damian Williams as Cooper.

PICTURE YOU DEAD (Tue 4 – Sun 9 Mar 2025)
Hot on the heels of the latest instalment of the acclaimed ITV Series Grace, Superintendent Roy Grace is back in a brand-new Peter James stage adaptation and world premiere of the bestselling Picture You Dead. Starring 2024’s multiple award-winning actor Peter Ash (Coronation Street, War Horse)Fiona Wade, who starred this year in 2:22 A Ghost Story following 12 years in Emmerdale, and with Casualty’s George Rainsford (Call the Midwife, 2:22 A Ghost Story) returning as DSI Roy Grace.

 

THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (Tue 11 – Sat 15 Mar 2025)

Step through the wardrobe into the magic kingdom of Narnia where a world of wonder awaits. Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they meet new friends, face dangerous foes and learn the lessons of courage, sacrifice, and the power of love. Watch the nation’s favourite novel The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe come to life on stage in this spectacular production which is guaranteed to delight all ages.

 

KINKY BOOTS THE MUSICAL (Tue 25 – Sat 29 Mar 2025)
This joy-filled sensation, based on a true story and hit movie, features Tony® and Grammy® winning music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper, a hilarious and life-affirming book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein and is directed by Nikolai Foster (Grease and An Officer and a Gentleman).


CALAMITY JANE 
(Tue 1 – Sat 5 Apr 2025)
Gosh almighty! Grab a posse because the whip crackin’ musical comedy classic Calamity Jane is a rollin’ on over the plains to a theatre near you. Based on the much-loved Doris Day movie, this plumb fancy new production stars the multi-award-winning West End actress and singer Carrie Hope Fletcher (Cinderella, Les Misérables) and begins its UK and Ireland tour at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in January 2025.

 

THE SHARK IS BROKEN (Mon 7 – Sat 12 Apr 2025)

Step aboard the Orca and into The Shark is Broken, a “profound dive behind the scenes of the making of Jaws” (The Daily Telegraph, ★★★★). This Olivier Award-nominated new play is “hilariously brilliant and pure genius” raves the Sunday Express (★★★★★) and stars Ian Shaw (War Horse, Common) as his father, Robert Shaw.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Mon 14 – Sat 19 Apr 2025)

Having been seen by over 35 million theatregoers, The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids–Brad and his fiancée Janet. When by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion whilst on their way to visit their former college professor, they meet the charismatic Dr Frank’n’Furter. It is an adventure they’ll never forget, filled with fun, frolics, frocks, and frivolity.

 

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS (Tue 22 – Sat Apr 25)

Starring Michael Maloney (Truly, Madly, Deeply; Belfast; Young Victoria; The Crown) as the celebrated Belgium sleuth, Murder on the Orient Express is one of Agatha Christie’s greatest literary achievements, with a final twist that is amongst her very best. Gripping, tense and masterfully cryptic, this brand-new production is a deliciously thrilling ride and an ingenious murder mystery, guaranteed to keep you guessing until the end of the line.
