Tuesday – Old Bohemia + Support @Hotel Pelirocco
The awesome Old Bohemia are on tour and they are playing Brighton on the 11th October!
Synaesthesia inspired, female fronted, Scottish act, Old Bohemia, formed in 2015 around the talents of Otis Ebenhardt and Marie Laveau. The band blends hard hitting soul, fiery blues and heart felt pop into a distinct cinematic folk sound that has drawn comparisons to Alabama Shakes, The Black Keys, Bon Iver and even Lana Del Ray.

Support from Smooth Hound Smith. Warner Bros Records/Warner Music Nashville’s Frankie Ballard returns to UK this autumn for another highly anticipated tour. His recent sold out tour and upcoming shows are another sign of the rockin’ Michigan native’s growing popularity as he prepares to release his new album, El Rio, later this year in the UK.
“Our first trip was such a great time, we decided to come back for more,” says Ballard. “I’m anxious to see how the new album reacts overseas…it’ll have its sea-legs by October!”
Ballard’s first foray overseas included sold-out shows at London’s Hoxton Bar and Brooklyn Bowl. The new tour is much more ambitious with 10 dates, beginning Oct. 3 in Amsterdam. He then travels to Hamburg and Munich, Germany, before hitting Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Brighton, London and Dublin. Each has a rich pageantry of rock ‘n’ roll history, something Ballard taps into when he write and records his music.

Saturday – Oxjam Brighton Takeover One Day Multi Venue Charity Music Festival
The biggest charity music festival in the UK is back in Brighton for one day only in October.The very best local performers and bands will be taking over multiple venues across the city. a diverse range of local acts will play across 10 stages and coffee shops.100% of profits will go to Oxfam. Caroline Waters is returning for the 3rd year running as Takeover manager and is overseeing the 10 Venue and Coffee Shop Takeover. We continue our exciting collaboration between several promoters, artists and media in the city, resulting in varied and high quality lineups. With scene experts such as Give it Back Magazine, Brighthelmstone Promotions, BN1 and Brighton Noise running their own stages, Under the Bridge running their infamous Mini Festival for all ages, and of course the support of the Prince Albert, Marwood and The Verdict to name but a few, you can expect carefully curated day-long events, showcasing the very best Brighton has to offer.
