Love is in the air!

Valentine’s Day is on the horizon and there’s plenty to love in our programme this month, so take a peek at our highlights of what’s coming up and treat your date/mate/your fine self to a lovely night out

COMEDY

Comedy leads the way with our cover star Chloe Petts bringing us a brand-new sold-out show (1 Feb) followed by the last semi-final (3 Feb) and the grand final (10 Feb) of the Komedia New Comedy Awards! Comedy fundraiser Big Cheer for Amaze returns to Komedia featuring Angela Barnes, Laura Smyth, Jen Brister, and Alistair Barrie (Wed 11 Feb), pun Goliath Darren Walsh brings us Do You Like Puns? (13 Feb), enjoy the funniest Valentine’s day Brighton has to offer at our Komedia Comedy Club Valentine’s Special (14 Feb), Winner of ‘Best Show’ at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards 2025, Sam Nicoresti, brings us her breakout hit show Baby Doomer on the same night The Em Show performs Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian (19 Feb) and Joy Unlocked features a stellar line-up for A Night of Comedy for EmbraceAbility (23 Feb) featuring Jen Brister, Maisie Adam, and Suzi Ruffell

MUSIC

Our small but powerful music listings include a night of jazz-punk, Balkan folk and more with Witch ‘n’ Monk, The Petrov Boys and The Brothers Bula (14 Feb), one of Canada’s most cherished and accomplished singer-songwriters Ron Sexsmith with support from Nora Joy (22 Feb), and singer/guitarist Keith James is joined by flautist Richie Cotterill for The Songs of Nick Drake (26 Feb). Also, Stuart Epps, one of the UK’s most respected music producers and engineers, chats about his five decades at the heart of the industry at Working with Elton John and Other Legends (9 Feb)

CLUB NIGHTS

Grab your dancing shoes and head over to one of our club nights. After a 6-month hiatus, The Brighton Soul Club returns, spinning Northern Soul, Motown, and Modern Soul on vinyl (5 Feb), Brighton’s two biggest dyke nights team up to give you the Valentine’s Night of your dreams at Gal Pals x Dykes on Decks: uHaul My Heart (14 Feb), and get’cha head in the game at the We’re All In This Together: HSM 20th Anniversary Party (28 Feb)

KIDS SHOWS

For families, Story Magic is back every Friday with original songs, classic nursery rhymes, and games. Stand-ups and sketch acts do their thing for an audience of children (without the rude bits) at Comedy Club 4 Kids (7 Feb), and you can enjoy a creative craft workshop by Saj from Pull & Pin, theatre show Oskar’s Amazing Adventure, and live music from Zimbaremabwe Mbira and Marimba Vibes at Sundae Club (22 Feb)
