Well isn’t the weather a bit rubbish? As Storm Gertrude (really!?) takes to Brighton, here are some great things you can do this weekend…and they are all indoors.

Grassroots 10th Birthday Fundraiser: The Carnival Collective are performing at the birthday celebration for this vital charity. Grassroots Suicide Prevention are a charity that has helped so many people in and around Brighton and Hove. The Carnival Collective have been described as a ‘genre bending live band that blows audiences away wherever it plays. With a line-up that can swell from 18 to 30+ musicians, it delivers an irresistible tidal wave of energetic music’, it sounds like an evening not to be missed! You can buy tickets here.

The Jam Tarts: For something a bit different this weekend, why not head to The Round Georges for a free show from The Jam Tarts. Listen to a sixty strong choral collective perform songs by artists such as The Smiths, Nick Cave, Joy Division and Bat for Lashes.

The Marlowe Papers at Otherplace at the Basement: ‘It’s 1593, and Kit Marlowe, the most successful playwright in Elizabethan England, is stabbed through the eye at the age of 29. Except he isn’t. Because Marlowe is also a secret agent. His secret service colleagues have faked his death because protecting the Queen from Catholic assassination plots has led to his arrest for atheism, a capital crime’. Sounds exciting doesn’t it? Head to the Otherplace to see the adaptation of the prize-winning novel. Click here to find out more.

Funny Women: Don’t ever trust anyone who says women can’t be funny, because this night at the Komedia will prove them wrong. One of the best comedy nights in Brighton, Funny Women features the best up and coming female stand up in the UK. Find out more here.

Have a good weekend!
