It’s the last weekend of June! And it’s finally sunny! Can you believe it? We’ve found a great selection of events on for you to celebrate this weekend, most of them are free and welcome to everyone.

Xhosa Cole Workshop @ The Verdict, Friday 28th June

Head down to the Verdict for a free jazz session with BBC award-winning jazz saxophonist Xhosa Cole. Everyone is welcome, of any age and of any ability, to explore aspects of playing jazz in a friendly environment. All you need to do is turn up at 6 pm with your instrument. Piano, drum kit and bass amp will be supplied. Singers are welcome too!

Edinburg Preview @ Komedia, Friday 28th June

Elrich McElroy finds a way to cross over the left versus right political debate in a way that will make you stop and think. He will be joined by Steve N Allen, who is seen on BBC 2’s The Mash Report, taking a look at how hard it is to be better, in a society of political correctness and being woke.

Community Charity Day @ Pavillion Gardens, Saturday 29th June

This Saturday morning, Pavillion Gardens are hosting a community charity day. There will be a wide range of stalls and events from local charities and community groups, as well as live displays from Out And About and ‘Puppy Power’ from Canine Partners.

Tarner Festival @ Tarner Park, Saturday 29th June

Tarner Community Project, South East Dance and Audio active bring you Tarner Festival! There will be something for everyone, with a music stage, a dance stage, workshops, activities, food, drink, skateboarding ramps, a raffle, bouncy castle, kids games, a BBQ and much more!

The Big Vegan Breakfast Feast Foodbank Fundraiser @ The Cowley Club, Sunday 30th June

The Cowley Club have created a delicious vegan breakfast in order to raise money for Brighton’s first Vegan Foodbank.  Everyone is welcome, whether you fancy sitting on a large community table, or tucking away in a corner by yourself. Expect good food, friendly people and a great community spirit all in a not for profit environment.

Lino Printing Workshop @ Holler Brewery, Sunday 30th June

This Lino printing workshop is part of our Hollers ‘creativity in pubs series’, and is a great way to meet people, distress, and make something you are pleased with. Everyone who attends will get the opportunity to design and make their own link print. All abilities welcome.
