Friday – Bitchcraft @ Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar
This female oriented clubnight takes over the downstairs area of Brighton’s Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar every last Friday of the month, featuring a mostly female line-up of DJs, bands and loads of glitter. This week, they will welcome London-based band Cosmic Strip and Rose Dutton and Edmund Lloyd-Winder from Rokurokubi who will be performing as an exclusive two-piece.
Starts at 11 pm tonight at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, 9-12 Middle St, Brighton BN1 1AL. Entry is free.
Friday – Berlin Beach Kollektiv Opening Party @ Tempest Inn
It’s time for the first Berlin Beach Kollektiv party of the year. Well-known names from the Berlin DJ scene such as Magnus Asberg or Just:Ali will spin the decks down at The Tempest Inn. They will be joined by no other than award-winning Brighton-based DJ Lady Lola.
Starts at 8 pm tonight at The Tempest Inn,159-161 Kings Road Arches, BN1 1NB Brighton. Entry is free.
Saturday – QM All Day Music Festival @ Patterns
Hosted by Brighton-based label QM Records, this all-day music festival celebrates Brighton’s vibrant music scene with performances from the city’s most active artists. Expect to see pianist and rapper Mrisi, singer songwriter Francesca Fulmini with band, Blues band Just LIke Fruit and many more.
The festival will run from 2 pm to 11 pm at Patterns, 10 Marine Parade, BN2 1TL Brighton. Entry is free.
Saturday – Brighton Summer Craft Fair @ Friends Meeting House
If you are looking for a unique gift, then this is the place to find it. Brighton’s artists and makers come together to showcase their diverse handmande arts and crafts.
Stalls will be open at the Friends Meeting House, Ship Street, Brighton BN1 1AF, from 11 am to 4.30 pm tomorrow. Entry is free.
Saturday – Brighton’s Big Screen Launch @ The Beach
Get ready for another month of non-stop movie screenings down at the beach! Brighton’s Big Screen launches this year’s jam-packed open air cinema season with a whole day of music on the beach, featuring a line-up of exciting DJs and live acts. BBC Radio 6 Music DJ, Gilles Peterson, will headline the event.
The show will start at noon and run all the way through until 11 pm. Premium tickets are still available on the Brighton’s Big Screen website.
Saturday – Funny Women Brighton Nights @ Komedia
Stand Up comedy goes female! Award-winning musical comedian Kate Lucas will headline this stand up comedy night which will bring together the most exciting female comedians in the UK.
Doors open at 7.30 pm tomorrow night at Brighton’s Komedia, 44-47 Gardner St, Brighton BN1 1UN. Tickets are available online.
Saturday – TAKE Brighton Summer Special @ The Arch
Having become one of Brighton’s moct respected clubnights, Take Brighton features several renowned DJs who will play the best in German Underground funk, house and techno. Among big names such as Masine Garman, Paul S or Disobey, tomorrow’s event will see Defected Records leading lady Sam Divine.

Sunday – The British Street Food Awards @ Brighton Palace Pier
The British Street Food Awards is the toughest street food competition in the world. Brighton being one of five regional heats, the 14 best traders in the South will come to the city’s beach near Brighton Palace Pier to try and gain your vote with their incredible dishes which are themed for the foodie family films Brighton’s Big Screen will show for the occasion.
The event will run from 11 am to 11 pm on Sunday down at the beach near the Pier. Visitors have to choose between the afternoon (noon – 5.30 pm) and evening (5.30 pm – 11 pm) slot. Tickets are available from Brighton’s Big Screen.
Sunday – Pride Community Day & Dog Show @ Preston Park
The main event may still be one week away but that doesn’t mean you can’t start getting into the Pride mood! The Pride Community Day has become a fixed part of the UK’s biggest Pride festival. The day will see Preston Park bursting with loads of sports, games and family activites and, of course, the Pride Dog Show featuring awards for numerous categories, retail stalls and a glamorous catwalk doggy fashion show.
The Pride Community Day will take place all day long on Sunday in Preston Park. If you want to register your dog for the show, you can still do so on the day.
