In Brighton, vegan and vegetarian food is everywhere. With delicious eateries on every corner, the city has proven that eating a plant based diet, doesn’t have to be tasteless. So as barbecues are such a summer staple for us Brightonians, why not try out some of these yummy veggie-friendly BBQ recipes? Even if you do eat meat, these might surprise you! Or at least give you an alternative for when your herbivorous friends come over…

1. Turmeric & Coconut Paneer (V)
This recipe may not be the quickest of the bunch, but it’s little effort for something as delicious as it looks. If you skip on making the homemade naan it’s actually pretty simple and will leave you with an exciting meat alternative to barbecue til your heart’s content.

2. Homemade Sausages (V+)
If you fancy trying your hand at making some vegan food from scratch, why not try out this yummy vegan sausage recipe? Sure Linda McCartney and Quorn make great alternatives, but how impressed will your mates be knowing you whipped them up from nothing! PS, if you’re struggling to form the sausage shape, you can always use the mixture to make burger patties instead.

3. Memphis Style Dry Rub Tofu (V)
When it comes to cooking vegetarian, it’s all about the seasoning. This recipe proves that tofu can take on a whole new meaning just by using a flavoursome dry rub. The recipe suggest either putting the cooked tofu in a sandwich or cooking on cocktail sticks for an (almost) authentic rib-look – yum!
