If you are part of a community group, voluntary organisation or not-for-profit social enterprise and are in need of funding, now is the time to apply.

The Communities Fund, which amounts to £363 000 in total, aims to help the voluntary organisations who make a big impact within Brighton. The fund recognises the positive impact of voluntary action that: improves wellbeing, builds cohesion and promotes fairness.

Groups and organisations can apply for money to help with a range of factors, including organising events, general running costs and equipment.

Last year 99 groups received funding, including
Moulsecoomb Amateur Boxing Club, the Crew Club in Whitehawk, Sussex Bears Wheelchair Basketball Team, Benfield Wildlife and Conservation Group, and Brighton & Hove LGBT switchboard.

This years scheme has just opened, and the deadline for the first round is on Friday the 24th of May.
