The Horse and Groom, The Cuthbert, London Unity, The Albion Inn, Rose Hill Tavern and now The Greys all have something in common – they’ve all been put up for sale by the EI group (previously known as Enterprise Inns).

Situated in Hanover, The Greys has been put up for sale by the indebted EI group after facing a number of challenges with the establishment in recent years. With changes of management and even a noise abatement order issued by Brighton & Hove City Council, the EI group has finally decided to put the local pub up for sale.

Brighton & Hove City Council have confirmed that the next owners of the establishment would have a clear record, removing the noise abatement order.

The EI group which is a leading pub business in the UK, with over 5,000 pubs to its name, has sold other local watering holes as mentioned above. The company is in more than £2 billion worth of debt so is aiming to focus on its more lucrative properties, hence the decision to sell this local.

What The Greys will serve as after its sale is uncertain with previous pubs having been turned into houses or simply being taken over independently, while one (The Cuthbert) has remained vacant.
