For something a bit different next week, why not treat the family to a wonderful stage show at the Emporium?

From January 21st the Apollo Production’s Junior company are doing a three night run of their stage production of Alice in Wonderland at the Emporium. The Junior company features children aged 4 – 14 and is the perfect treat for the family during January. Created by Isabel Sensier and Ruben J Dodds especially for Apollo Productions, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland features all of our favourite characters from the beloved children’s books by Lewis Carroll, but with a modern twist guaranteed to be madder than ever! The play is produced by the founder of Apollo Productions, Katy Markey and directed by Conor Baum, who has directed a hit production of The Crucible. Promised to be ‘wacky, charming and spectacular’ it’s not one to miss!

The Emporium Theatre opened in 2012 and has since become a staple in the Brighton cultural scene. The venue has played host to some incredible productions and has won Best Venue at the Brighton Fringe Awards as well as being the recipient of the British Film Institute’s Neighbourhood Cinema Fund, which granted the venue £4000 worth of new cinema equipment which was installed just this year. The theatre is an ex-Methodist church and retains many of its original features including exposed beams and incredible stained glass windows giving it a truly unique feel. The Emporium has become so respected as a theatre that they boasted the late, great Alan Rickman as a Patron. You can buy tickets here.
