Legendary fashion house Louis Vuitton have teamed up with global charity UNICEF, pledging to make the world a better place by raising funds to benefit children in need. The two came together for UNICEF’s sixth biennial ball this week, bringing in some of the biggest names in show business.
The likes of Lea Seydoux, Nicole Kidman, David Beckham, Mariah Carey and Elton John were amongst the stars celebrating the wonderful work UNICEF do. The Ball also kicked off the partnership with the social media campaign #MakeAPromise, you can see some of the photos taken from the night of A-Listers making a promise to help children in urgent need. Louis Vuitton have designed a silver Lockit pendent and bracelet, which is available at stores worldwide and online, and all of the money from these items will go straight to UNICEF. Speaking to InStyle, Michael Burke, chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton said “UNICEF is a strong and reliable leader in humanitarian action. Together, we can make a real difference to children in the most vulnerable situations…Our goal is to reach as many people as possible, ask them to share our promise and to make a real difference”. Burke also explains the meaning behind the social media campaign; “When children make a promise, they take it seriously. These are promises that come straight from the heart. The pinky promise is an instinctive and sincere way to seal a promise and to share it with someone close”
