Debbie Bridge is a Canadian born opera-singing actress living in Brighton, who prefers a quiet Christmas with her husband. She runs master classes in both opera and acting and dreams of playing Miss Marple one day.
Tell us about what you do? I’m an opera singing actress who runs master classes in both and loves murder mysteries. My dream is to play Miss Marple in my old age.
What can you tell us about yourself? I am a travel nut. Any chance I can get to travel for work or pleasure I’m a yes for!
Are you born and bred Brightonian? I’m Canadian from the beautiful city of Vancouver.
What do you like about living in Brighton? Everything. It has everything. It has a diverse culture and society and we manage to run along Okay. To me, Brighton is a very unique and dynamic city for these reasons.
Favourite place in Brighton? The Pavilion and the ice rink at Christmas. I always go for one skate a year on it, when I’m around. It is just beautiful!
Where do you go on Christmas Eve? Home with my husband. I love a quiet and relaxing Christmas.
How do you celebrate Christmas? Possibly I could have a TV day, go to a church service, walk on the beach and eat!
Favourite Christmas movie? ‘It’s a wonderful life.’
Best Christmas present? Bath salts.
Worst Christmas present? I can’t say that on a public forum.
Are you making a New Year’s resolution? If so what is it? Yes. Less sugar and more love.
How do you celebrate New Year’s Eve? With friends or in foreign places.
Do you believe in Santa? Nope, but I did at one time. I loved looking for the little red nose in the sky. I thought I saw it a few times!
